Democratic Party Embraces Socialist Bill of Rights
Return of the “Red Decade”

Had we looked back recently, we would have realized the roots of the machinations of the Democratic Party, and its current leader Barack H. Obama, are deep in “The Red Decade” of the 1930’s in America.
“The Red Decade is a term coined by journalist and historian Eugene Lyons to describe a period in American history in the 1930s characterized by a widespread infatuation with communism in general and Stalinism in particular. Lyons believed this idolization of Joseph Stalin and exultation of Bolshevik achievements to have reached its high point in 1938, running deepest amongst liberals, intellectuals, and journalists and even some government and federal officials.”Consider this:
“Communal consciousness was also stimulated by the activities of socialists and communists throughout the 1930s. Although probably fewer than 100,000 Americans were members of socialist or communist parties in the 1930s, enough prominent intellectuals joined or gave their support to such parties, and enough strikes and demonstrations were led by such groups, to earn the 1930s the title of “the red decade” from some historians. For both socialist and communist groups the goal was not communal consciousness, but class consciousness—a recognition by the poor and the workers in America of their common plight and of their common exploitation by the rich. Socialist and communist political parties often required extraordinary dedication from their members to the cause—in the case of the Communist Party, the near-complete subordination of their individual lives to collective action and party leadership. Socialists and communists sponsored colleges, newspapers, journals of opinion, plays, art exhibits, folk-music concerts, parades, and summer camps to promote class consciousness. Socialists and communists led various labor and farm unions and sought to buildclass solidarity among these members.”
Now consider this from an article published in 1948:
The Democratic Party Adopts the Soviet Bill of Rights:
“[The] historic Democratic party is no more, that it has been transformed into a labor party so completely that there is nothing left of it but the name. The process by which [the] transformation….was brought about had its beginnings during the period of “crisis government” established by Franklin D. Roosevelt and his “brain trust” in 1933. Measures having far-reaching application and effect were drafted by the President’s “advisors” and were jammed through Congress, frequently without most of the members having an opportunity to read them.Where, and from whom, have you heard those very same words and sentiments expressed in recent months? As the writer says above: “The striking resemblance which this whole passage bears to the…Soviet Bill of Rights need not be dwelt upon.” I would agree. The reason is abundantly clear.
Mr. Roosevelt had been elected in 1932 by an electoral majority of eight to one….In such circumstances, Congress practically abdicated. It became literally a “rubber stamp” Congress. And Republican Senators and Representatives, with the majority of their constituents supporting President Roosevelt, were careful not to show too much opposition to measures which he favored. That’s why is was so easy to junk the Democratic platform of 1932 and to enact so many measures that violated the most fundamental principles of the historic Democratic party without protest from Southern Democrats, and even with their support.
One sequence [of the transformation] began during the period from 1935 to 1937, or at the very height of what Eugene Lyons has called “The Red Decade,” when it was fashionable in certain circles in New York, Los Angeles and Washington to glorify all things Russian and to affect a “revolutionary” attitude toward all existing institutions in the United States. It was a time when literally dozens of organizations with high-sounding names were set up in this country by the Communists to attract innocent “fellow travelers” and when The Daily Worker undertook to popularize the slogan “Communism is the Americanism of the Twentieth Century.”
In February, 1935, Joseph Stalin announced that the Russian Constitution would be democratized; in June, 1936, the first draft of the new Soviet Constitution was completed and published, [and adopted December 5, 1936]. It was promptly translated into English and by February, 1937, copies of it in the form of a five-cent pamphlet were available throughout this country. It immediately became the leading topic of discussion among the so-called “liberals” in the United States.
[The] Soviet Bill of Rights…guarantees every citizen a job…. the right to material security in old age and also in case of illness and loss of capacity to toil….[and] “The equal rights of citizens of the USSR, independent of their nationality and race, in all fields of economic, state, cultural and public-political life is unalterable law. Any direct or indirect limitation of rights, or conversely, any establishment of direct or indirect preferences of citizens dependent on their racial and national membership, as well as all preaching of national exclusiveness, or hate and contempt, is punishable by law.”
[In late January, 1944] President Roosevelt revealed that the [New Deal] was being replaced by a streamlined post-war program. Here is what President Roosevelt said:
“As our nation had grown in size and stature, however – as our industrial economy expanded – [our previous life and liberty] political rights proved inadequate to assure us equality in the pursuit of happiness. We have come to a clear realization of the fact that true individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident.
We have accepted, so to speak, a second bill of rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all – regardless of station, race or creed. Among these are: The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or mines of the nation; The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation; The right of every business man, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad; The right of every family to a decent home; The right of adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health; The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident and unemployment; The right to a good education.”
The striking resemblance which this whole passage bears to the…. Soviet Bill of Rights need not be dwelt upon. In his message to Congress on September 6, 1945, President Truman said:
“The objectives for our domestic economy which we seek in long-range planswere summarized by the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt over a year and a half ago in the form of an Economic Bill of rights. Let us make the attainment of those rights the essence of post-war American economic life.”
Notably, he issued a “salute to labor” on Labor Day, 1946, and more recently on June 28, 1947…. he discussed the subject in an address to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People at Lincoln Memorial in Washington. In his “salute to labor,” President Truman said:
“Labor, perhaps more than any other group, has consistently supported [FDR’s] “Economic Bill of Rights.” We must now move forward to full achievement of these objectives: useful and remunerative jobs for all; income high enough to provide adequate food, clothing and recreation; freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopoly; adequate health protection; more effective social security measures, and educational opportunities for all.”
In his more recent address to the [NAACP], by coupling these “economic” rights with other civil rights, he stated clearly….that it is the responsibility of the federal government to guarantee and to enforce these new rights. “The extension of civil rights today means not protection of the people AGAINST the government, but protection of the people BY the government.”

What we are seeing, right now, in Washington, DC and, indeed, throughout the United States is nothing more than a replay of “The Red Decade” from America’s 1930s.
It’s “Marxism on the March” in America. All the while we are suffering from the damage done this country during the original Red Decade.
I am slowly coming around to the conclusion that America’s financial crisis and Obama’s election and reelection and even the current “fiscal cliff” crisis have been carefully contrived and orchestrated.

Founding
The process of forming Committees of Correspondence (CoC) began in late 1991 when approximately one third of the Communist Party USA membership split from the party to form a new organization.
The former communists joined with former Maoists, Trotsyites, socialists and anarchists to launch CoC at Berkeley, California in 1992 and to convene the official founding conference in Chicago in 1994.
In 2000, Committees of Correspondence (CoC or CofC) became Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS).
Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers
In 1994, Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers, Chicago, were listed on a “Membership, Subscription and Mailing List” for the Chicago Committees of Correspondence.[10]
Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers, former leaders of the terrorist Weather Underground Organization hosted Obma’s first known political gathering in their home in 1995.Bill Ayers‘ ties to Obama run deep[11];
The two men were involved in efforts to reform the city’s education system. They appeared together on academic panels, including one organized by Michelle Obama to discuss the juvenile justice system, an area of mutual concern. Mr. Ayers’s book on the subject won a rave review in The Chicago Tribune by Mr. Obama, who called it “a searing and timely account.”Mr. Obama further expanded his list of allies by joining the boards of two well-known charities: the Woods Fund and the Joyce Foundation.
These memberships have allowed him to help direct tens of millions of dollars in grants over the years to groups that championed the environment, campaign finance reform, gun control and other causes supported by the liberal network he was cultivating. Mr. Brazier’s group, the Woodlawn Organization, received money, for instance, as did antipoverty groups with ties to organized labor like Chicago Acorn, whose endorsement Mr. Obama sought and won in his State Senate race.
Earl Durham
A former member of the Communist Party USA national committee, Earl Durham‘s name appeared on 1994 “Membership, Subscription and Mailing List” for the Chicago Committees of Correspondence.[10]Professor Durham went into “education reform” in the 1970s and in the 1990s founded the organization Community Organizing and Family Issues.
Barack Obama served on the organization’s sponsoring committee in 1994/95[12].
Marilyn Katz
In 1994 Marilyn Katz, Chicago, was listed on a “Membership, Subscription and Mailing List” for the Chicago Committees of Correspondence.[10]
Katz, with Carl Davidson helped organize Obama’s appearance at the 2002 Chicago anti Iraq War rally.
She has worked closely with Barack Obama since meeting him through his position at Miner, Barnhill & Galland in the 1990s.
- It was through the law firm that Mr. Obama met Marilyn Katz, who gave him entry into another activist network: the foot soldiers of the white student and black power movements that helped define Chicago in the 1960s.
- “For better or worse, this is Chicago,” said Ms. Katz, who has held fund-raisers for Mr. Obama at her home. “Everyone is connected to everyone.””
Mike Klonsky
In 1994 Mike Klonsky, Chicago, was listed on a “Membership, Subscription and Mailing List” for the Chicago Committees of Correspondence.[10]
Mike Klonsky is a long time friends with Carl Davidson and Bill Ayers and was involved with some of the educational project which Ayers and Obama worked together on.
Until June 2008 Mike Klonsky ran a Blog on Barack Obama‘s campaign website.
It was pulled at very short notice after adverse publicity began surfacing on the blogosphere.
Van Jones and Barack Obama
Barack Obama‘s former “Green Jobs Czar” Van Jones also had strong ties to the Committees of Correspondence.
Van Jones and his own Marxist-Leninist organization, STORM worked closely for years with members of Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism.

Why Was Obama’s “Brain” Valerie Jarrett So Happy to Hire Communist Van Jones? Was it Fate? Is She Obama’s Handler?

It is also well known that after moving to Chicago, Obama linked up with the local communist networks.
Manning Marable, a leader of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism claims that Obama “understands what socialism is. A lot of the people working with him are, indeed, socialists with backgrounds in the Communist Party or as independent Marxists. There are a lot of people like that in Chicago who have worked with him for years…”
It seems that Valerie Jarrett is simply following a family tradition-one of promoting up and coming radical politicians.
In the late 1940s Valerie Jarrett’s future father in law, Vernon Jarrett was a rising activist and journalist on the South Side of Chicago.
Vernon Jarrett worked in the South Side Community Art Center and on the black run Chicago Defender newspaper.
The Communist Party had several cadre in both organizations, including a covert member, the black poet and journalist Frank Marshall Davis.
Jarrett and Davis also had a third organisation in common-Communist Party dominated Citizen’s Committee to Aid Packing House Workers-which in 1948 was “organized to support the united packing-House workers of America C.I.O. now on strike“
The letter above is dated April 12, 1948. Note that CIO (Congress of Industrial Organizations) was at the time a communist controlled labor federation.
To the left is a partial list of Citizen’s Committee to Aid Packing House Workers officials.
Note the names Oscar C. Brown (Treasurer) and Louise T. Patterson (Assistant Treasurer), F.M. Davis and Vernon Jarrett.
To confirm the connection, below is a close-up of the organization’s publicity committee. Note that it is chaired by Vernon Jarrett and includes Frank Marshall Davis.
That the Citizen’s Committee was communist influenced is beyond doubt.

In 1948 Vernon Jarrett left his job as journalist at the Chicago Defender to start a black oriented radio show “Negro Newsfront” with Oscar Brown.
Late the same year Frank Marshall Davis moved to Hawaii where he was active in the underground Communist Party. At one point, like many of his comrades Davis became a Democratic Party official.
Later in 1970, Frank Marshall Davis met and mentored a fellow future Democrat-Barack Obama.
Vernon Jarrett was clearly on the left and possibly, like his colleague Frank Marshall Davis, a covert member of the Communist Party.
Jarrett’s claim to fame is that he was a partisan of the cause of African Americans in the broad democratic tradition of Paul Robeson and W.E.B. DuBois..Robeson and DuBois were both Communist Party members. On April 9th, 1998 at Chicago’s South Shore Cultural Center, Jarrett hosted a Paul Robeson Citywide Centennial Celebration event, with his old comrade and Party sympathiser Margaret Burroughs and former Communist Party members Studs Terkel and his old friend Oscar C.Brown.
Paul Robeson incidentally, encouraged Frank Marshall Davis to move to Hawaii.

Jarrett was fanatical about African Americans registering and voting in mass for socially conscious candidates. He championed Harold Washington like a great warrior, and this March, from his hospital bed, wrote an article appealing to Black Chicago to turn out to vote for Barack Obama in the Illinois primaries. Obama astounded everyone with an incredible landslide victory as the progressive, Black candidate for the Democratic Party nomination for the U.S. Senate seat from Illinois. From his sickbed, Vernon Jarrett issued a clarion call, and the people responded.
The Jarrett/Obama conection did not end with Vernon Jarrett’s death-it moved to a higher level.
A former Deputy Corporation Counsel for Finance and Development under Harold Washington, Valerie Jarrett continued to work in the mayor’s office into the 1990s.
In 1991, while Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Richard Daley, Valerie Jarrett hired Michelle Robinson, then engaged to Barack Obama.
Later Valerie Jarrett ran the finances for Obama’s 2004 Senate bid and served as treasurer of Obama’s HOPEFUND.
Jarrett became one of the Obamas’ closest friends and advisers-sometimes even described as the “other side of Barack’s brain”..

The president confirms Jarrett’s tremendous cache with him, personally and politically. In July, Obama told New York Times reporter Robert Draper, “I trust her completely…She is family.” Obama trusts Jarrett “to speak for me, particularly when we’re dealing with tricky issues.” When asked, he admitted she has him by the short hair.
Valerie acknowledges her tight relationship to the ‘leader of the free world’. “We have a kind of Mind Meld,” Jarrett said about Obama. “And what he wants to do is what I tell him to do.” Chicago tycoon Martin Nesbitt identified the source of Jarrett’s power in the fact that she established both Michelle and Barack’s “whole façade of Authenticity.”
Jarrett lobbied Obama to create the office of Chief Diversity Officer within the FCC, a position filled by Mark Lloyd, an Alinskyite and former senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, who is fixated on silencing Conservative Talk Radio. Jarrett’s intent is to change policy by altering the structure of the FCC. Who is this close personal friend Marilyn Katz to whom Valerie Jarrett is so indebted? Marilyn Katz provided “Security” for Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) at the 1968 Democratic Convention. Undercover Chicago policeman William Frapolly told prosecutors that during the “Days of Rage”, Marylyn Katz taught the radical black protesters to use “Guerrilla Nails” against Police. They consisted of a cluster of nails sharpened at both ends, and driven through balls.” Police were pelted by golf balls with sharp nails through them that were coated with excrement. Later, Marylyn Katz would relate that her “Guerrilla Nails” were merely “Defensive Weapons” to retaliate against the Police.The SDS soon imploded. Bill Ayers – whom Marilyn Katz knew since he was 17 – created the terrorist Weather Underground from its ranks. In 1971-2, Marylyn Katz would lead another segment, the New American Movement (NAM), a combined Leftist organization that included Communist Party USA members from the 1930s. NAM’s primary political text, entitled Basic Marxism: What It Is & How to Use It, revealed the group’s devotion to Gramsci. During the Seventies, NAM ran Socialist “schools” open to the public. Marlyn Katz and Carl Davidson started “Chicagoans Against the War in Iraq” (CAWI). (Carl and Tom Hayden were founders of the infamous Venceremos Brigades, a joint triumph of Cuban Intelligence and the KGB. In 1992, he joined the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism. He has also been active nationally with the Anti-War group United for Peace & Justice. In December 2008, Marylyn Katz was elected to UFPJ’s National Steering Committee.) Katz and BettyluSaltzman organized the 2002 antiwar demonstrations where Barack Hussein Obama gave speeches opposing the Iraq War, calling it a “stupid” war and a conspiracy. This made Obama the choice of his party’s far Leftist-wing in 2008.
A longtime beneficiary of Democratic spoils, Katz put her new organization “Chicagoans Against the War in Iraq” to work for the Democrats. CAWI – which lists “Allies” like MoveOn.org, Code Pink, International ANSWER, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, and the World Can’t Wait- organized thousands of blacks to register voters in 2003. Katz and Carl Davidson wrote an article, “From Protest to Politics,” urging radicals to support John Kerry. In a blog entry adorned with a picture of Barack Hussein Obama, Carl Davidson urged readers of the CAWI homepage to “tone down their Ultra Leftist agenda, in order to promote a wide spread Left-Progressive Unity.” Carl defended Obama by writing: “Obama is from the Saul Alinsky School of Community Organizing.” Mayor Washington’s Movement he explained was launched by Radical Black Nationalists and Socialist Leftwing Black Democrats. Barack Hussein Obama has two very, accomplished, influential and tough Black Radical women, Valerie Jarrett and Susan Rice as mentors he noted.
Last August, Marilyn Katz and her SDS comrade Don Rose, David Axelrod’s mentor met with ‘In These Times’ to discuss the 40th anniversary of the “Days of Rage”. When asked if they learned anything from the violence, she charged the FBI with having 28 Black Panthers “assassinated,” calling the mythical murders “a wakeup call where we saw the ugly underbelly of our Country.” She then offered her opinion from 40 years’ reflection on the violent rebellion she led: I don’t reject violence as a useful form of Revolution.” Asked whether she regretted her actions “in today’s Age of Terrorism,” she laughed, “I regret nothing.”
Marilyn Katz is not just a friend of Valerie Jarrett’s but also of both Obamas. Barack met Katz through his job at a law firm run by Judd Miner. The New York Times reports Katz “gave him an entry into the Chicago Radical Activist Network: the Black Power Movements that defined Chicago in the 1960s.” Michelle Obama has close ties with Katz
as well. The moment Jarrett introduced Michelle Obama to her friends; Michelle “was immediately accepted into the very radical social circle.”Michelle and Barack enjoy close relations with Leftists who shared their lifestyle, as well as their Communist views and political envolvement.‘These are activists,’ says Marilyn Katz, ‘who talk to their cohorts several times a day.” She describes a May 2008 fundraiser for DSA member Rep. Jan Schakowsky, which Katz attended and Michelle Obama addressed. From their leftist social circle, Katz was welcomed into the Obama campaign. Like Code Pink radical Jodie Evans, Marilyn Katz became a Cash Bundler for Obama, as well as a member of his National Finance Committee. Podesta’s most lasting contribution to the leftist cause came through his promotion of a strategy that White House aides dubbed “Project Podesta.” This was a system that enabled the Clintons to push through unpopular policies that neither Congress nor the American people wanted. Its implementation marked a dramatic tilt in the balance of power, giving the executive branch an unprecedented ability to force its will on the legislative branch.
Project Podesta enabled the President to bypass Congress through the use of executive orders, presidential decision directives, White-House-sponsored lawsuits, vacancy appointments to high federal office, selective regulatory actions against targeted corporations, and a host of other extra-constitutional tactics.

Thursday, January 10, 1963Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman’s request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following “Current Communist Goals,” which she identifies as an excerpt from “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen:
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

A break in the magician’s fog
While the creation of an October surprise of this nature could be relegated to the historical dustbin of speculation, it is here that a seemingly random series of dots – or events – come into view and the magic trick becomes exposed to those looking for the clues.
It was on July 31, 2012, about a month before the September 11 attack in Benghazi that a mortar ripped into the wall of the CIA occupied military intelligence building (research into ownership suggests a possible UK connection), now apparently designated as “the consulate in Benghazi.” The explosion did not cause any deaths or injuries and consequently, it did not make many headlines.
It is here that I rely on my well-placed intelligence source to help me understand the magic trick onstage. According to my source, our intelligence operatives noticed something unusual near that building. Seven members of the Iranian Red Crescent were milling about, almost like they were inspecting the damage. It was as if they were looking to see if the walls were reinforced, and assessing the response to that facility. The next instant, they were gone.
It was reported that the seven member contingent of the Red Crescent were inexplicably kidnapped by “armed men.”
Fast forward to October 6, 2012, about the time when Valerie Jarrett was reportedly meeting with Iranian officials in Qatar. The kidnapped Red Crescent delegation was suddenly, inexplicably and unceremoniously released unharmed in Libya after 65 days in captivity.
Rumors inside the intelligence community suggest that the Jarrett “October surprise” meetings with Iran were contingent on the release of the Iranian Red Crescent workers.”

Valerie Bowman Jarrett (born November 14, 1956) is a senior advisor to U.S. president Barack Obama. She is Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, and Chairs the White House Commission on Women and Girls. Prior to her current position, she served as Co-Chair of the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team, and Senior Advisor to Obama’s presidential campaign.[1] She was also a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.[2]

Valerie Jarrett Has a Secret Service Detail?

This is highly unusual, and of course, costly. I’ve never really heard of someone who is merely a senior White House aide getting assigned Secret Service agents.My understanding is that at the senior levels of the Bush White House, at least during the latter days, only the president and his family, the vice president, the chief of staff, the national security adviser, and the homeland security adviser were assigned Secret Service agents.
It’s possible that Jarrett has received enough specific and credible threats to justify Secret Service protection, or that the Secret Service has for some other reason calculated that she needs bodyguards. But it’s also possible this is a case of oddly overdoing it – and overusing taxpayer resources.
